Good for the community.

Good for the soul.

We’ve partnered up with Garden to Table, an organisation that teaches children how to grow, harvest, prepare and cook fresh food from the garden (Thanks to the team at Almighty for the introduction!). The volunteering sessions involve facilitating small groups of primary school kids to do gardening/cooking activities in classes run by specialist teachers. To get involved, join our Facebook group to book sessions and keep up to date.

Social Innovation New Zealand is constantly striving to ensure that our members are actively contributing to our local communities. With social impact at the core of our ethos, we have partnered up with Garden to Table to run weekly volunteering sessions. Throughout the year, we have an ongoing volunteering roster at Dominion Road School and Mt Albert Primary School.

These sessions allow our members to grow, harvest and cook with tamariki, building connections with the wider community. Volunteering provides an opportunity for our members to experience tangible social change, reflecting how social change can be implemented using a bottom-up approach. We believe that volunteering with local grassroot organisations allows our members to enact social change, no matter how big or small.
